Photography Workshops
Talon Digital Imaging offers both live and online workshops to help you learn how to use your digital camera to capture life the way you see it for pictures you are proud of. Students have constantly amazed themselves with their ability and their talent once they really know how to work with their camera. The change in their abilities from that first assignment to the last is a wonderful journey!
Live workshops are held during the year in the beautiful South Burnett area of Queensland. These are the popular "Get to Know Your Digital Camera" workshops. It's a full day from 9:00 a.m. until about 4:00 p.m. and includes lunch and morning and afternoon tea. These workshops are designed for those who want a hands on experience with their digital camera and are at a beginner level. The classes are small, usually 5 to 6 people to enable one on one time with each student if required.
Talon Digital Imaging also offers one on one workshops for advanced students. These workshops are for people who want to learn how to use their DSLR cameras. These workshops are from 1 to 3 people and include the advanced course by email for assignments later.
The online workshops are offered either as beginner which is based on the "Get to Know Your Digital Camera" workshop or Advanced which has 6 modules to complete and is for photographers with a DSLR camera.
The beginner workshop covers focussing problems, holding your camera, composition, white balance, memory cards, uploading and so much more. Assignments are emailed in for comment and suggestions. A certificate is issued upon completion.
The advanced workshop covers almost every aspect of using a DSLR including RAW, manual focus, difficult lighting, using light and so much more. The final assignment in the advanced course is a photo journalistic assignment that uses all you've learned and challenges you to get creative.

A few comments from students who have taken the workshops:-
"I have always had a passion for photography, but did not have the knowledge.
This course has provided me with the base from which to build my skills in photography.
The Advanced correspondence course allowed me to access the modules and complete each at my own pace. The modules are well presented and easy to understand.
The assignments compliment each module so that not only are you learning the theory but putting it into practice with each module.
I have no hesitation in recommending this course to anyone wanting to further their knowledge and skills in photography, and have more fun with their camera and get better results. Thankyou Sherrianne, for an interesting and sometimes amusing experience."
Sharron
"I started the beginner course as a very mature student who knew nothing about his digital camera. I finished the beginner course and went on to the advanced course and am now taking
the pictures I wanted to take. This old dog did learn new tricks and now I can keep up with the best of them and I know what I'm talking about!"
Ken
"I have always been interested in photography but didn't feel I had the skills or knowledge to accomplish anything great. After taking the advanced course, I now have the confidence to handle my camera in any
situation and have now decided I want to be a professional photographer. I don't think I would have had the confidence if I had not taken this course. Thank you!"
Michelle
"All the other courses I looked at were in the hundreds of dollars and you weren't sure what you were getting. I took one course that cost me almost $300 and it didn't cover half of what the Advanced Course did.
This course was affordable and challenging but Sherri was always available to answer my questions and help. I'm very satisfied."
Jason
"My children got me a digital camera for Christmas and it sat in a box for months. Then my daughter gave me the beginner course as a gift to help me. Now I'm the nana with the camera and I drive my family crazy
with the camera. I do scrapbooks now as well with my photos. I now love my camera and wouldn't be without it!"
Amy
"I spent a lot of money on a TAFE course in photographer that didn't teach me half of what Sherrianne taught me in one day of a one on one course, money well spent and I only wish I had done this before
spending a fortune on the other course!"
